Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between Forsyth Water Polo and Georgia Tritons WPC?
Forsyth Water Polo competes in the fall GWPL season and is geographically restricted (Forsyth County, Gainesville, Alpharetta, parts of John’s Creek). Georgia Tritons WPC is our year-round club program open to athletes from any area.
Where are the games?
Fall GWPL games are hosted across Metro Atlanta, including:
– Dynamo Swim Center (Chamblee)
– Cherokee County Aquatic Center
– Mountain View Aquatic Center (Marietta)
Georgia Tritons WPC travel tournaments are mainly in Florida, with future events planned in Texas (TX) and California (CA).
Can a player join at any time?
Yes! We welcome athletes year-round, and players may start any session at any time. We also offer a two-week free trial through USA Water Polo so new athletes can try the sport with no commitment.
What if an athlete has never played water polo before?
Great — we specialize in beginners. As long as your athlete can swim 25 yards independently, we will teach them everything else. Water polo is best learned by jumping in and playing, and our coaches help new players feel confident quickly.
I want to play for you, but I live far from the Cumming Aquatic Center. Can I still join? [email protected] Why are practices so late?
Yes, absolutely — however, here’s how tournaments work:
– Registered Forsyth Tritons WPC athletes get first priority
– If we cannot field a full roster, we invite athletes from nearby clubs
– Metro Atlanta club athletes may join us for events if their club is not sending a team and we have space
– Athletes from nearby states are welcome for tournament opportunities if space allows

Swimming is far more established in Georgia, and most prime pool times are already reserved for swim clubs. Water polo, still growing in the state, receives later or remaining slots. We are grateful for the pool time we have and use it to grow this amazing sport. As we expand, we aim to secure earlier times.
Do I have to wear a Speedo?
No. While we call them water polo suits, they are not required. Athletes may wear jammers if they are more comfortable.
Who can join?
Athletes ages 8–18, from beginners to competitive players.
Do beginners need swim experience?
Yes — athletes must be able to swim 25 yards independently, but no prior water polo experience is required.
Where do you practice?
Primarily at the Cumming Aquatic Center.
How do I register for your programs?
All sign-ups are completed through TeamTopia.
