Eric Borunda Head Coach

Eric played for Commerce Aquatics, Irvine Kahuna, Huntington Beach WPC, and La Serna High School (CA), where he was named Whittier Daily News Player of the Year in 2016 and helped lead the team to a CIF Division 3 Championship in 2017. He went on to compete at the collegiate level for NCAA Division III Whittier College, where he was named Newcomer of the Year in 2018 and helped the team win both the SCIAC Conference Championship and the inaugural Division III National Championship in 2019. He was honored as Team Sport Athlete of the Year in 2021.

His coaching background includes serving as an assistant coach for the boys and girls programs at La Serna High School and as head coach for Youngwood Aquatics Club from 2019 to 2022. After relocating to Georgia, Eric had stints coaching and assisting different teams in the Atlanta metro, including Dynamo Youth Water Polo. He currently coaches with the ODP Youth Girls Program (Southeast Zone). In 2025, Eric began coaching with Forsyth Water Polo and founded Forsyth Tritons WPC with the help of a dedicated team and passionate parent support.

Outside the pool, Eric works as a Project/Operations Coordinator for the foodservice equipment manufacturer’s rep group CGA Reps. He resides in Duluth, GA with his wife Teresa and their dog Romeo. Eric hopes to continue to grow the sport in Forsyth County and the North Atlanta metro by eventually fielding multiple GWPL teams and developing Forsyth Tritons WPC into a year-round club program.

Jack Michler

Jack Michler is currently pursuing a dual major in exercise science and business at Kennesaw State University, where he also serves as captain of the KSU Water Polo Club. Jack has been playing water polo since middle school and previously competed for the Forsyth Tritons in the Georgia High School Water Polo Association (GHSWPA).

In addition to playing, Jack is actively involved in supporting the sport as a referee for the Georgia Water Polo League (GWPL). He also works as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Cumming Aquatic Center.

Jack is passionate about public service and is pursuing a career as a firefighter and EMT with the Cherokee County Fire Department. His dedication to both water polo and his future career reflect his strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to his community.

Mel Fisher Carlson Goalie Coach

Mel began her water polo career as a high school freshman at San Ramon Valley HS and 680 Water Polo Club in Danville, CA where she quickly found community and fell in love with the game. During her senior year, Mel helped lead her team to a second-place finish in the North Coast Section Championships and earned several individual honors, including First-Team All-North Coast Section, First-Team All-East Bay, Defensive Player of the Year, and was named a Senior All-Star. She continued her water polo journey at Colorado State University, where she was named Western Water Polo Association Player of the Week and set the school record for career saves.

Now based in Sugar Hill, Georgia, Mel lives with her husband, Coray, and their dog, Nova. She’s excited to share her experience and love for the sport with the next generation, helping young athletes grow and achieve their dreams.
